Pole Fitness
Class Description
Pole dancing is a very diverse sport that is performed on and around a vertical bar or pole. The pole dance combines strength, flexibility and endurance, and requires much technique and body control. In addition to being a full body workout, pole dancing also develops your confidence, creativity and of course, your dance skills.
We focus first on developing the necessary physical condition and learning the techniques of each individual dance movement. When these have been mastered, they are combined to achieve the ultimate goal, an elegant dance on the pole using all the elements learnt.
It does not matter if you have no prior experience in the sport. We will teach and practice all you need to develop your physical condition and to be able to practice the sport. Stretching sessions, cardiovascular exercises and dance techniques are all part of our training program.
Structure of the Pole Dance Fitness class
We start our class with a warm-up session, which may consist of cardiovascular exercises for the development of endurance; strength exercises to develop muscles and to become stronger; and stretching sessions to avoid injuries and to stylise movements on the pole. Each of these will be applied with greater or lesser intensity depending on the needs of the group. The warm-up lasts approximately 20 minutes.
When the warm-up is finished, the learning begins with the training of techniques, exercises and dance figures on the pole. The instructor always adjusts to the level of the student, no matter if it is the student’s first class or if the student has prior experience. The instructor always provides personal attention. This helps to develop new techniques, and provides the opportunity to improve or correct techniques already learnt.
Each person is different and learns and develops at their own pace, so we give you the time that you need to learn the techniques and to reach your goals. If you do not feel ready to learn the next technique, then you can always ask the instructor to repeat what you want to perfect.
We conclude the hour of fun with stretching exercises to wind down and relax the muscles.
